Joy to the players and fans of TERA Online! This action-packed MMORPG has been waited and highly anticipated by most as best MMORPG, as it will officially launched in May 2012, available in American continent, European, and Oceania. Of course there are limited restriction to play from other region based on company agreement by En Masse Entertainment as publisher and the developer of TERA Online , Bluehole Studio.
IP Block Restriction
While En Masse trying to block hacking network from and to TERA Online MMORPG, but the statement could be seen as racial discrimination, as written here : "... unfortunate that the vast majority of Internet traffic we see from these regions are from cyber-criminals relating to account theft, gold-farming and other hacking behavior". We know that IP block or restriction in European TERA Online also occurs but in country basis per company agreement which we know it won't be publicly available :)
While plenty people would understand that hacking and account theft are serious problems, but did all Asians, Arabians, and others are all hackers and conducting in fraudulent behavior? (We know that not every people are evil, so why don't they block per personal basis like restrict IP that have been reported used by hackers and other criminal activity)
While services and internet traffic is occur from any part of the world, hackers and e-theft are working from each home, each country like US, UK, in Europe region, and so.
Why exclusion are just made for specific region? Africa, Asia, Russia, and Middle East... Or this could be seen as En Masse-Blue Hole tactics to evade lawsuit from Asia (mainly from NCSoft that has its firm grip on Asian market) because the story and controversy of Copyright Infringement ?
Well, all we players can do is a quick resolve and of course, launch the game quickly :)
